PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
1. Highlight common reactions to conflict and confrontation to introduce an alternative
conversation
2. Define the difference between a conflict of “values” and a conflict of “needs”
3. Learn options for handling issues of conflicting values when agreement is unlikely
4. Teach a 7-step problem solving formula
5. Participate in an exercise applying the 7-step formula
6. Identify the difference between a need and solution
7. Harness the advantages of brainstorming
8. Learn the “Pinch/Crunch Cycle: A Model of Human Relationships” and teaching this model
to the groups you lead can lay the groundwork to support sustainable, effective, positive,
and productive relationships
9. Provide Q&A time to discuss participant real-time matters
